Social Skills - Screening
The social skills screening is an important part of our Adventure Kids Program. We use it to assess each child's current social abilities before the program begins, allowing us to identify specific areas that need support. This personalised approach ensures that our sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, focusing on targeted skill development. By the end of the program, we conduct another screening to measure progress, helping us track the child’s growth in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. This process enables us to provide parents with a detailed report on their child’s social development.

Our ESRA (Emotional Skills Rating Assessment) and SIPRA (Social Interaction and Participation Rating Assessment) are key tools we use in the Adventure Kids Program to evaluate and support the development of social and emotional skills. The ESRA focuses on understanding how children manage and express emotions, while the SIPRA assesses their ability to interact and participate effectively in group settings. These assessments allow us to create individualized plans for each child, ensuring that their social and emotional growth is nurtured throughout the program. By regularly using these tools before, during, and after the program, we can track progress and provide clear insights into the child's development, helping parents see measurable outcomes.

Welcome to our super exciting and fun Adventure Squad! As the clinical nurse consultant in autism, I’m thrilled to introduce this new program, designed to help neurodiverse kids explore and develop their social skills in a fun, engaging way. With many years of personal experience and higher education in the field of Autism,
I’ve worked closely with our facilitator, Mathew, to create a program that brings social learning to life. Together, we’ve crafted adventures that not only entertain but also help children navigate the complexities of social interaction in a supportive and creative environment.

With a passion for storytelling and teamwork, Mathew leads the group through each adventure, helping kids navigate challenges and work together to shape their own journey.
Supported by Monica, our clinical nurse consultant in autism, Mathew ensures that each session is not only fun and engaging but also focused on building essential social skills. His dedication and creativity bring these adventures to life, providing a safe and supportive space for kids to thrive.

Facilitator
Meet Dylan. He is our ultimate and number one Minecraft Master. Every week he jumps online and hangs out with all of the amazing Minecraft members within our brightlives community. Dylan is a very caring and understanding facilitator, creating a safe space for all of our kids to safely explore the many Minecraft worlds and the world of their emotions.Each week Dylan finds new and exciting ways for the kids to practice their social skills in our sessions. He has a great ability to turn learning into lots of fun and adventure. So don't miss out on all the fun. Please come along and join us, learn new skills and make new friends.
