The SAS program is aimed at children in upper primary school and early teens who need to improve their social and emotional skills, including those with Asperger's Syndrome/High Functioning Autism.

Welcome to the Secret Agent Society (SAS) Program at Bright Lives! Our evidence-based social skills program is designed to support children with Autism Spectrum, ADHD, and other neurodiverse conditions.

Through engaging activities, children learn to navigate social interactions, manage their emotions, and build meaningful relationships all while having fun!

Sessions are conducted on zoom, allowing you to engage in the group in the safety and comfort of your own space

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Secret Agent Society (SAS) is an innovative social skills program tailored for children aged 8-12 years. By immersing participants in an exciting 'spy-themed' adventure, we help children develop essential social and emotional skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

The SAS program covers:

  • Understanding and managing emotions

  • Building conversation skills

  • Recognizing and responding to social cues

  • Handling peer pressure and conflict resolution

  • Developing self-regulation and problem-solving skills

HOW DOES SAS HELP

The SAS program aims to help children learn:

  • How to recognise simple and complex emotions in themselves and others

  • How to express feelings in appropriate ways

  • How to cope with feelings of anger and anxiety

  • How to start, continue, and end conversations and play activities with others

  • How to tell the difference between friendly joking and mean teasing

  • How to manage bullying

  • How to cope with making mistakes

  • How to handle new situations and ask for help when needed

  • How to make friends

HOW IT WORKS

Our SAS program is conducted via telehealth, making it accessible to children and families across Australia. Each session is led by our skilled facilitators and overseen by our clinical nurse consultant in autism, ensuring that every child receives the individualized support they need.  Program Structure:

​

  • Duration: 10-week program

  • Format: Weekly 60-minute telehealth sessions

  • Group Size: Limited to 6 participants to maximize engagement and individualized support

  • Materials: All participants receive access to SAS resources, including workbooks, online activities, and interactive tools.

PROGRAM PRICING

Total Program Cost: $3,250
Our comprehensive Secret Agent Society (SAS) program is fully inclusive, covering all elements necessary to support your child's social and emotional development.

The fee includes:

  • Intake Interview & Assessments: Understanding your child's needs to tailor the program effectively.

  • 11 x 90-Minute Child Group Sessions: 9 weekly sessions followed by 2 follow-up sessions to reinforce learning.

  • 4 x 2-Hour Parent Group Sessions: Equipping parents with tools and strategies to support their child's progress.

  • Secret Agent Society Software Package: Interactive resources to continue skill development at home.

  • Collaboration with Schools and Providers: Regular meetings and communication with your child's school, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Speech Therapist, and other providers.

  • 2 x 1-Hour Social Sessions: Additional social practice opportunities in one of our other social skills groups (Adventure Squad, BME 360, or Minecraft groups).

 

NDIS Funding Options

The SAS program is eligible for funding through various NDIS categories, including:

  • Increased Social and Community Participation

  • Improved Daily Living Skills

  • Assistance with Daily Life

Families can utilize their NDIS funding to cover the cost of the program under these categories. If you're unsure about how to use your NDIS plan, our team can guide you through the process to ensure you can access the support your child needs.

Monica Reeves is a highly experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant specialising in Autism support at Bright Lives. With a compassionate and person-centred approach, Monica is dedicated to empowering neurodiverse individuals and their families.

 

She brings over 20 years of expertise in delivering tailored interventions, particularly in social skills training, continence management, and anxiety reduction strategies.

Monica has developed and facilities programs, including the Secret Agent Society (SAS) and her own therapeutic social groups, reflecting her commitment to creating inclusive environments where children can thrive.

 

Her deep understanding of Autism, allows her to provide holistic and impactful support, helping clients build independence and confidence.
